It’s human nature to get excited when we commit to a new journey; and this applies to a person having made the decision to declutter. Sometimes that excitement can manifest itself into action of the wrong kind.
I very often arrive at a Client Consultation to meet with the prospective client for the first time, and be shown to a room where they proudly show me all the storage solutions they have bought in which to organise their clutter.
They have bought boxes, baskets and concertina files and in some cases even filing cabinets and furniture.
In its basic form – one analogy would be:- until you know how many pencils you have, how do you know how big your pencil case should be to fit them all in?
So my advice, don’t go out and buy your storage solutions until you know exactly what is required; and you can only do that once you have decluttered.
So don’t waste your money or add to your clutter by having ineffective, redundant, storage solutions cluttering up your home, this will only demotivate you. Understand the need then supply the storage solution to address that need.
Don’t add to your clutter…
